Getting used to the new NL corona rules
Today, I was going to the supermarket to get the ingredients for dinner. I didn't know what I was going to make yet, and hoped I'd make a decision in the supermarket - which I did! My roommate and I ate falafel pita with vegan yogurt and a paprika salad. It tasted pretty good!
However, with these new corona regulations in the Netherlands, supermarkets are now advised to demand face masks in the supermarkets. To my surprise, the supermarket I went to, didn't have that rule yet! Nevertheless, I decided to complete this challenge by going to the supermarket with a face mask.
I was trying to see if I could find a pattern, (Perhaps only elder people refuse to wear a mask?) but I couldn't really spot anything. Both people who did and didn't wear masks, were old, young, single, together, and I couldn't find anything that mostly separated the two.
For a second, I thought about asking someone without a mask why they weren't wearing one. I thought this could be a bit too confrontational for them and could end up in an argument, so I didn't dare to do it. Perhaps I'll do it another time - I can see it become really uncomfortable if there's a lot of other people not wearing masks either.
